Challenge
Designing for users in vulnerable emotional states — onboarding had to lower anxiety, not add to it, while still capturing the data therapists need to match patients well.
My approach / process
Mapped the emotional journey first, the screens second. Used soft typography, generous spacing, and a palette grounded in color psychology to create a sense of safety before any form input appears.
Key UX / UI decisions
- Onboarding broken into micro-steps with reassuring copy at every checkpoint.
- Therapist matching prioritised by tone, modality and availability — not by photo.
- Booking flow designed to remove decision fatigue with smart defaults.
- Accessibility: AAA contrast, screen-reader friendly forms, reduced motion respect.
Outcome
A full product design covering landing, onboarding, therapist discovery, booking and session prep — plus a brand identity that signals warmth and professionalism.
What this project proves
